Art Club is our free, regular project, helping young people aged 8 and up to develop their artistic skills. Led by professional contemporary artists, alongside a regular team of highly skilled staff, young people get to develop their skills in, for example:

• Drawing/painting and other 2D techniques
• Video and film-making and editing
• Animation, stop-frame and digital
• Photography
• Sculpture and making
• Anything else their imaginations can conjure up

The techniques learned are more arts than crafts, and the team don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach, instead working with the young people on things that they want to develop, and always listening and negotiating with the group as a whole.

Young people have had exhibitions alongside professional artists and have exhibited at prestigious venues such as Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and the Library of Birmingham.

There are two sessions most Saturdays throughout the year, 10am until 12.30pm and 2pm until 4.30pm. Sessions are free and, understandably, there is usually a waiting list.
