Job opportunity – Art Club Lead Artist
Art Club Lead Artist/ Tutor
Friction Arts are on a quest to find the right Lead Artist/ Tutor to work with an inspiring group of young people with different needs, abilities and SEN. Our Art Club is a free, weekly term-time Club, which supports young people aged 8-18 yrs old to explore their culture, work and spend time with their alternative peer group and develop their artistic skills. This Lead Artist/ Tutor will already have experience in working with young people in the Arts, and will also be excited to develop their skills and ideas in culturally responsive, participant-led workshops.
Hosted by Friction Arts, we are seeking a practitioner with the experience of supporting young people to express themselves and their worlds through the prism of the Arts.
This Lead Artist/ Tutor will be working alongside artists from our wider team as well as managing a dedicated Art Club team, many of whom are former Art Club members.
Timeline
Application deadline: Monday 18th April 2022

Interviews will be held at The Edge, on Saturday 23rd April, from 11am to 3pm, and will include a Youth Panel interview
Expected start date: 7th May 2022
Part time: 0.4 FTE
Salary: £32500 pro-rata, dependent on experience
Fixed term: 1 Year.
Based at: the Edge, Digbeth, Birmingham B12 0QH
Responsible to: The Projects Manager
Delivery: Saturday, term time only, with flexible working sessions for special events. *we will ensure that there is appropriate time off arranged.
In addition to this there will be one planning/preparation day per week.
