Find out more about Home in Highgate‘ free activities for 8 to 18yrs this summer.

Highgate Cultural Action Area started in May 2024 and was led by Friction working closely with Highgate Community Support, St. Martin’s Youth and Community Centre, People’s Heritage Co-operative, Glue Collective  and other local partners and residents.

The group, formerly known as ‘Friends of Highgate Steering Group’ led by Birmingham Open Space Forum, has since September 2024 merged with ‘Highgate Cultural Action Area’, led by Friction Arts.  The objectives of both groups were so similar we decided to become ‘Home in Highgate’. At present it is co-chaired by Helen Murie (BOSF) and Marcus Belben (Friction Arts & People’s Heritage Co-operative).

We work together to create a more positive and vibrant community in the Highgate area through a regular programme of creative, cultural and heritage focussed activities for and with local people of all ages, and we’ll have some fun too.

The CAA programme is funded through BCC Cultural Development team’s Enterprise Zone – thanks to everyone involved.
